DECA is not just a student organization for emerging leaders and entrepreneurs, it’s a powerful teaching tool to bring your classroom to life and engage students using exciting and memorable methods. DECA offers a variety of in-person professional development in Washington and around the United States.

Washington DECA New Advisor In-Service

Each September/October, Washington DECA provides training for New DECA Advisors. This in-service training is perfect for any new advisor (1-3 years) to come together in a cohort, understand the nuts and bolt of operating a program, and get started on the fast track to building an award winning program. This enlightening and engaging professional development experience for DECA Advisors is held each summer in an exciting American city. DECA AMPED is three days of immersion into the DECA world that truly accelerates the DECA teaching experience.

DECA conferences and events are for teachers too! Look closely in the registration materials for DECA conferences and see the workshops, meetings, and opportunities for DECA advisors to gather for formal and informal idea sharing, facilitated learning, and advanced teaching demonstration experiences.


Washington DECA works closely with the Office of the State Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) to recognize clock hours and support the continuing education of Washington’s teachers. Events eligible for clock hours will be noted and documentation processed at the end of eligible events.
