PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

DECA is not just a student organization for emerging leaders and entrepreneurs. It is a powerful teaching tool to bring your classroom to life and engage students using exciting and memorable methods. DECA offers a variety of in-person and virtual professional development in Washington and around the United States.

Washington DECA New Advisor In-Service

This in-service is a perfect time for new advisors (1-3 years) to come together in a cohort, learn the nuts and bolts of operating a chapter, and get started on the fast track to building an award winning DECA program in Washington.

Washington Association of Marketing Educators (WAME)

WAME is here to help guide both experienced & novice teachers by connecting them with rich and powerful professional development. Learn all about project management, MBA Research resources, and network with other members of the Washington Association for Career and Technical Education (WA ACTE) at these conferences and training opportunities.

DECA Inc's Enhance Your Teaching Programs

DECA Inc.’s Professional Learning Series offers training, resources, information sharing and networking opportunities to DECA chapter advisors through professional development conferences and workshops designed to showcase DECA’s role in education, enhance teaching, improve instructor performance and fulfill certification requirements for continual professional development. Participants receive certificates of achievement, as the professional development sessions are geared to provide resources and tools to better integrate DECA into classroom instruction.

Clock Hours Available

Washington DECA works closely with the Office of the State Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) to recognize clock hours and support the continuing education of Washington’s teachers. Events eligible for clock hours will be noted and documentation processed at the end of eligible events
