Mission Monday: Anuj Ankit from Juanita High School

Mission Monday is a weekly feature where we showcase our student members and the work they're doing to live out Washington DECA's mission of providing business and leadership opportunities to high school students to succeed in school, careers and life. The following is a project by Anuj Ankit from Juanita High School.

Sidekick Camera is a Seattle-based technology company with a product that will revolutionize the way the sport of soccer is regulated. It harnesses the power of infrared radiation and imaging technology to process player and ball movements in 4-D space for the output of objective referee calls (offside, throw-ins, and corner kicks) in milliseconds, solving some of the most notable problems of professional soccer. Its cameras with its very own patented Red Dot Sense™ technology produce stunning results while facilitating the governing of a soccer match. They can be installed in any stadium in the world.

Sports are the great unifier and one of the most interesting markets in venture investing. The venture ecosystem for sports technology and innovation is still in its early stages, although developing at a rapid pace. As the sports industry undergoes technological transformations, investors are taking notice of the potential business opportunities. The investment Sidekick Camera seeks will enable it to manufacture its revolutionary product to fulfill its first 22 orders in the first six months of operations and to cover the patent filing fees, patent maintenance fees for the first three years of operations, and operating expenses for the first six months of operations.
